Before everyone on the planet had a digital camera, there was something called film. I thought it might be interesting to post some nature pictures that were shot on film instead of with a digital camera. Anyone else want to contribute?

Here's about the only nature photo I've scanned and cleaned up:

It is a nice one too! I've found that instead of scanning, it is sometimes easier to just use a digital camera to take a quick picture of my slides. Most of the time I think it looks just as good as a scan, at least on screen.

Glad to see a few film shots. Digital is great, but once a while I still get the urge to shoot a roll or two of film just so I can look at the slides through a loupe on the light table. You get to see every bit of detail that the film can capture and with a dynamic range that is just incredible.

Love the nice saturated colors and composition. Kodachrome is such a versatile film I hope it never goes away.

Yes, there is still a lot of film sold every year, but much of it is encased in the plastic bodies disposable cameras. The film era was fun to live through, but digital photography has really sparked a revolution in the number of pictures taken and shared among the masses.

Sure hope you had a 400mm with a 2x to shoot that ol' copperhead.

I think I used an 80-200mm f4 on that one. It was just a juvenile copperhead, maybe 10 inches long or so.

Too close for my comfort. But, hey, it was a "juvenile" copperhead. Just small enough to kill you slowly. :-)
