New Boston Terrier in Family - Ernie - 01-14-2008, 11:17 AM

We just adopted a Boston Terrier (about 1-2 years old) from one of the shelters. He, "Ernie" has really adapted quickly to us and to our other Boston Lucy. I just wanted to share a couple of pictures from this weekend.
And, yes, he does sleep with his tongue out.

Cute dog...

We had to put our one and only pet (cat) for the last 10 yrs to sleep Thursday... Eventually, I'd like to get a dog...I never realized how attached I was to the cat until I had to make that decision. :(

Thanks for sharing.. Enjoy the new member of the family!

Gah, I can never seem to get away from Bostons. I was born and raised around these dogs, and can't get enough of them.

Also, why is it that EVERY person who owns a Boston always has a perfect name for them? Ernie is great. Lucy is as well, as my parents still have their Boston, Ethyl.

Love those Bostons.

EDIT - Does he snore loud? Our old male would snore so loud I'd have to shut my door at night when I lived at home.

Andrew - Sorry to hear about your cat. It is never easy to lose such a close family member.
Colin - Yes, they both snore. Now the night-time chorus has gained a voice.

I have three Boston Terrors myself. Two females and a male.

They snore and have bad gas

Being the owner of a dachshund myself I can never get used to dogs that look like they've been chasing parked cars.

That last shot is priceless, though. I can never seem to get a pic of the dog when he is asleep. He always wakes up when I move.

Thanks, Wes. It took a number of shots before he settled in and was asleep enough for the flash. Mike - you are so right on the gas issue.
