Went out for a "walk" again and got my first Western Scrub-Jay - Aphelocoma californica this afternoon. It was a little too far away for my liking, even with a crop, but I was just happy to get a shot.

Is that the same bird? It sure looks better in the first shot. I like the composition and position of the bird in the first one. Like others have mentioned, sometimes it's nice to back away and include some of the habitat.

Gorgeous perch and pose. These are very handsome birds. I need to go out west and find one some day.
