Rocky Mountain Elk - 08-02-2005, 12:02 PM

Just back from a short trip to Colorado. Took this picture in Rocky Mountain National Park. The hike down the mountainside was easy, but the return at 10,000’ was brutal! I’m glad the shot made every step worth it.

I'll say it did; this is an outstanding photo and well worth whatever effort you had to expend to have captured it. Congratulations. Were you using a wide angle lens for this one?

Looks like it was made with a D2X shot with an 80-200 f2.8 at F9, 1/40 second.

Beautiful shot! I saw a bunch of bull elk in Wyoming but it was too dark to get sharp image.

Wow, beautiful shot. The word majestic comes to mind, especially with the elk standing to the right.
