Yippee!! I'm getting myself to BBSP this weekend to shoot the flowers-yea!
I really like the composition of the last one, Jim. What exactly is that insect-looks kind of different?

Hi Therese! Thanks for the comment. That’s a little Hover fly. I had to look it up, and there are several varieties.

Looks good Jim. Guess I'm gonna have to get out and see whats growing. Billy has been after me to shoot some flowers. I guess there's no excuse now.

Very nice, Jim. I see what you were doing now!

Going down to the tower was interesting, I counted 8 Alligators on the trail coming back, sure keeps your heart pumping.

Thanks Roy! The park has such a great variety of wildflowers all spring and summer that it’s about all I shoot during the year. Birds and wildlife fill the months that they are not any blooming which aren’t many. And closeup work is my favorite type of photography.

Thanks Will… was that you I spoke to in the tunnel about the wood-sorrels and macro work? I remember seeing another photographer and speaking to him, but I get so locked into what I’m looking for I get a bit aloof. The gators were up catching some rays on the trails. I'm glad they aren’t aggressive or we’d be in trouble.

Thanks Mike. These little flowers are the first to come up out there and it means the season is opening. It only gets better the next few months. Makes me very happy!!

Good job, Jim. I have a question about BBSP. Now that the gators are out. I have a question. My husband wants to go with me but he wants to bring the german shepherd pup. She will be on the leash but is it safe? She is pretty good size now so I was just wondering what your thoughts were. I'll be the one holding the camera.

They have strict dogs on the leash policy at BBSP and the gators are the main reason for the policy. Lots folks walk their dogs out there all the time but always on a leash. There’s no problem at all doing this. Just don’t let the pup nose around one and you’ll be fine. Alligators love dogs too.
