Anahuac & Cameron Gator Expedition - 04-20-2008, 05:48 PM

Anahuac has the best crop of young gators ( and some bulls) I've seen in awhile.
The 1st 5 are from Anahuac and the last 5 are from Cameron Prairie.

Whoa. That's a lot of gators.

My favorite shots are #3 and the last one.

Love those captions!

Thks Therese & Patti-I've never seen so many gators out and about at either place before. Part of the reason for them being in a more "confined area" at the Cameron area is they have drained a good bit of the wetlands, (I guess to plant seeds for the next migration) & they now have less room to roam where there is water.

Fun series of shots Leon, that 2nd shot the gator looks like he is smiling at you and not in a good way. The last shot looks very scary too, he looks very intense there, good job!

Thks Mike, Laurie & Stephen-I appreciate it.
Now that you mention it Laurie, that is kind of a sinister smile on nbr 2, isn't it. LOL
On the last one, I was trying to get a lower angle and just as I got to the edge of the water(there was about 7-9 yds of water between us), he didn't trust me anymore and went into the water so I left well enoujgh alone. All in all I got 121 keeper shots of about 40-45 different gators. It was quite a neat couple of days.
