Brazos Bend SP...Dragonfly, oh heck it is an Anhinga - 04-30-2008, 07:13 PM

Lonnie (ldelacruz) and I set up close to the little alligators this afternoon. If you slow down and smell the flowers the subjects will come to you. Lonnie commented about Sid's (labmansid) nice photo of an Anhinga with a perch and I replied that I had never seen one with a fish let alone gotten a photo of one with lunch. While I was taking photos of an Black Crown Night Heron Lonnie spotted an Anhinga with a perch, by the time I turned that way all I got was a nice photo of the back of the birds head. Shortly after that the Anhinga came up with another fish and I thought everything was all set to get a nice series of lunch time. Well I suspect that being around Jim (jfoureyes) has corrupted the little guy that runs the internals of my camera because he knows that I do not want photos of the back of a birds head so he tried to focus on the dragonfly. Well that project got vetoed and I was fortunate enough to get the focus moved to the Anhinga.

John got to watch out for those dragonfly gremlins that get inside cameras… sometime they never go away… that’s what happened to all my cameras... my F4s still has them in it! Excellent capture my friend!

Haha! You try to get a nice pic and someone always gets in the way. Nicely focused shots of the anhinga's successful venture fishing.
