Seagull Sees Sea? - 06-17-2008, 01:08 AM

(sorry for the dumb title, but I'm overly tired from my trip)

I was on the west coast this past weekend and while eating on the patio of a restaurant my brother noticed this seagull pacing the low roof next to us. He kept peering over the edge at us - a couple times we thought he'd tip over and fall on our table. It was hysterically funny - you just had to be there. Of course, I couldn't resist taking a picture :) Anyhow, in the photo he looks more like he's looking off in the distance than looking at us ... and fwiw the photo is uncropped - that's really how close he was (ok, ok, I did have a zoom lens...but he was close!)

PS Thanks to the airlines these days - my flights were all delayed and I got in at 2 am last night so I really am tired!

It was sheer luck that it got exposed correctly!!! I didn't take the time to stop and check any settings - I just grabbed camera and took 2 pics - this is the one that turned out.

I have over 250 photos from the weekend - about 200 are of my brother, his fiance and then their wedding. I wish I'd had more time to just go out and walk on the beach and take pictures. I really gotta buy Photoshop soon - trying to go through all these photos is getting depressing because there is not a heck of a lot I can fix with the simple programs I have. Ah well. It still was a fun trip :)

Nice image and story.....I dont fly anymore because of the incompetent way the airlines operate.....Still waiting on my lost luggage and its been 8 years! However, it is cheaper then gas these days.
