Simple Cane Leaf portrait. - 06-20-2008, 11:52 AM

From my new favorite shootin’ spot at Brazos Bend SP. Nothing special... just liked the way the dew was dripping down the leaf. Looked like it was dripping water the same way I was at the time.

I would like to see a closer view of that gorgeous light and drops on the leaf.
Love all the different shades of green, though.

Thanks Therese! It’s one of those photos that I was taking to see what I could do with after I got it home. I’m still playing with it and I’ll try your suggestion for sure. You know a lot more about that kind of thing than I do.

The colors look a bit much to me. Maybe too much blue?? I am not sure but they seem slightly off on my screen (which has been calibrated but isn’t the greatest screen ever). I also find the spider webs to be somewhat distracting, I thin it is because they break up the flowing lines of the cane leaves. I do like the crop better than the full image. I think this is the sort of picture that is best served by keeping it as simple as possible.

I like the shot Jim. The crop of the second one and the colors look great on my PC. Also, I like to keep my images as simple as possible if possible. If I can blur out everything but the main subject, I'm as happy as can be.

I like that the leaf details and drops show up better in #2!
All those details are quite mesmorizing!

Greg thanks for taking the time to reply. Sorry, but I’m not seeing the blue you are… looks green to me, but may be my ol’ not calibrated monitor. I thought the spider webs fascinating and one of the reasons I made the image… well and the dew drops too. I’ve let my number one critic (my wife) look at both photos and she says the cropped version is better. I love being different so you know which one I like. Again, thanks for your input… I like hearing other folk’s opinion, and they certainly don’t have to agree with me. I’m a real easy going ol’ man.
