BNC visit - 10-25-2008, 05:02 AM

I went out to get some sunrise shots yesterday, but the gate was still locked so I went over to San Jacinto. On the way back the gate was open to let workers in for continuing cleanup and repairs. Theres still a lot of work to do. There weren't many birds out. The childrens area used to have a platform built around a diorama of nature scenes, its gone as are most of the concrete animals used in it.

Thanks Jim, I have been enjoying your photos, glad you found your favorite tree at BBSP.
I have often wanted to do the painted churches tour, but haven't been able to fit it in to my schedule.

Hey Steve! The churches are a real delight! We’ve talked about going over there for several years… I saw a documentary on PBS about them and I’m happy we finally made it over there… be sure to take your wide angle lens…I sure wanted one wider than a 24 mm when I was there.

Love the first shot Steve. I've never been there at sunrise before. Good work. It's good to hear that they are starting to clean up BNC.

Nice sunrise shot Steve. Thanks for the BNC update. They are trying to be able to open by next weekend, but I'm not sure they're going to make it.

Steve, As has been said...the sunrise/monument shot is awesome. I have tried to get one before but I never got everything to cooperate at the same time - good sunrise color, no wind so the water is smooth, no people in the way, etc. You got it all!

I really like the heron shot too and the shadows on the roof supports of the structure are so interesting.

I'm sure you are counting the days until BNC is back up and running. I hope it is soon.

Patti

Nice shots Steve-the last two kind of break my heart, but I'm sure it'll come back.
