Duck in Motion - 01-04-2009, 07:09 AM

Taken on new years eve at Brazos Bend. It was very cloudy and foggy so I had to work on blurred motion shots instead of sunrise shots.

F5.6 @ 1/160 sec, ISO 400.

Very cool shot Tim. I am however surprised you got that much wing blur at 1/160. I didn't think thier wings moved that fast.

That's a wall hanger, Tim, perfect wings position and everything that goes with it.

This is wonderful, Tim. As Daniel said, a perfect wall-hanger.

I think working on blurred motion shots is an awesome way to end a year and start another -- particularly when you have such success! This is a great image, Tim! I particularly like the softness of the colors and extremely blurred background. Well done!

Incredible Tim! I have tried this and it is not easy. I can get blurry wings - that's a piece of cake. But getting the eye and head sharp is not so easy. Any tips on how you did this?

Patti

Thanks everyone for your comments. I've yet to hang any of my shots on my walls so maybe this one is a good one to start with.

Thanks Patti. I was trying out a new flash and was going to say that this is what helped but after checking, the flash did not fire on this one. Got lucky with panning just at the right speed. He did this a couple of times as I was walking down the path and I was able to get a good focus on him.
