I like it too. I don't think I've ever seen one, but maybe just didn't pay attention.

I tried to find it for ID, but couldn't. Looks like some kind of Lily I think.

EDIT: I think I found it. It's a White Fawn Lily. Info here: http://www.mountainnature.com/Plants...ommonName=None

and here: http://www.islandtides.com/assets/re...s_Apr26_90.pdf

Patti

I shot this photo as a group of us were walking around for a photo shoot. The woman who asked me to participate IDed the flower for me, but I don't remember what she called it. I can ask her.

I have a few photos of this variety of flower. They are in a nature preserve in Garland, a location that shelters several endangered flowers and fish. The preservation society has been working to increase the number of these flowers, and their efforts are paying off.

I didn't know Garland had anything like that. I have to remember when I go see my parents up in Plano.
Nice Lily.

I was surprised when I found the nature preserve. It extends from the West side of Shiloh Road by the frontage road to GWB Turnpike and follows the creek down past Naaman Forest High School. This is old growth forest; some of these trees are over 300 years old. For whatever reason, the settlers never cleared this land. Now, much of it has been destroyed by development. The GWB Turnpike, itself, destroyed a big chunk of it.

For me, simple seems to provide the most satisfying kind of beauty. Guess it's cause I'm a simple dude. I like it.

Love the flower, hate the clutter in the background. The clutter ruins it for me.

The flower is a white trout lily, Erythronium aldidum.
