Quick trip to Mercer Arboretum in Humble... - 05-03-2009, 12:53 AM

This was our first visit, won't be the last either. :) Time and light were a bit short, but we managed a few. My daughter and I were competing for the 105mm VR Micro, again... :) The first two are the Nikkor 300mm F4 AF-S, the others the Nikkor 105mm VR Micro.

Thanks, these guys did have unusual coloring, but this one was molting too. Isn't it crazy that 4 of us went to the same place without discussing it in advance?

Edit: I figured out that these are Brown Anole Lizards. They aren't native to North America. They have been imported and are spreading now.

Too bad I didn't get to meet you yesterday Bruce. The light was awful yesterday, not to mention the wind.

You got a nice variety of images here!

We decided to check it out after seeing your great shots from there. It would be even better with good light. Did you see the results of the recent flooding along Cypress Creek? WOW!

Shadow added 1 Minutes and 10 Seconds later...Double Post Merged Below

Thanks, all. It is a pretty interesting place. Since it's freeway all the way for me, it's not that a bad drive... :)

That's not nearly as much of a problem as the Burmese Pythons that people release in Florida. Those things take down deer!

Interesting find on the Brown Anole. I haven't seen any in my yard yet. I have plenty of Greens that will kick their butts.

Yep, nor as big of a problem as starlings and house sparrows have become.
