James Nachtwey has two shows going now at the United Nations and at 401 Projects in the Village. Here's a short review from the Times. If you are in New York these might be on your must see list.

Seeing one of his shows would be amazing. His photos always evoke strong emotions.

Yeah, he is an honorable photographer who does not engage in Fauxtography. His stuff almost rises to the level of the legendary Robert Capa.

I think Nachtwey goes a very different direction with his work than Capa. With Capa you don't see the suffering at an individual level and to the degree that Natchwey does. He's early Central American work was in the Capa mold but soon he when a different direction. I would say he's in the mold of Eugene Smith and he has gone beyond Smith.
