Do you need to attach a filter to the back of this lens to use it?

Nope, regular old AF-D mount. Obviously no filters on the front- this is constructed alot like the 10.5mm. Nice 35mm FF 180deg. diagonal to diagonal FOV.

Yes, a filter is screwed onto the back to get the best performance from this lens.
