Like I said in the post, most are the same that were on here originally. I will be adding the rest when I get a chance. None of the photos were out of focus originally either, as I have already mentioned. To quote my friend on here "I am not an expert, I am good enough to know when [a photo is] OOF". I have openly admitted that the original photos I uploaded were not good representation of the photos I had taken. In my very first posted response I alluded to the fact that I had to play around with the photos in order to make them small enough to upload to this forum based on it's size requirements. Initially, the preparation process involved compression of the photo and I also could immediately see visible differences in the original and resulting photo for upload. I didn't think it would matter for posting to a forum honestly, plus I was not really posting the photos for feddback, rather just wanted to show some examples of photos taken with this lens and perhaps generate talk about the NIKON 300mm f2.8 VRII lens (that is why I posted in this section!) One good thing that has come from this string of comments is that it forced me to go back and figure out a better way of preparing photos for this forum WITHOUT compression and loss of detail like I was experiencing before. So thanks for that :) I replaced the same photos with versions that were prepared the new way without loss of detail.

As far as the other constructive advice about in camera settings including sharpening and contrast, I am glad to hear it and try it. I already mentioned that the in camera sharpening setting was unintentially set to the highest setting and I changed it once I discovered this. As far as in camera saturation values, I will definitely do some trials to compare different values next time I shoot and see how the photos turn out. Since we have "gone there" with this discussion, rather than talk about the actual lens which was the intention, do you mind sharing your in camera settings for "most" nature photography. And yes, I know there is no one size fits all setting for every photo, blah blah blah (just in case that is what you are about to reply with) but just a general idea would be very helpful. Thanks

Great to hear! And be sure to post some more over in the nature forum when you get the time too.
