Nikon 400mm f/2.8 AF-S I

Taken at Huntington Beach, CA during Bodyglove Surfbout. Monopod and TC-14EII teleconverter used to capture image below.

There have been two upgrades to this lens since this version. AF-S II which was the same lens with an updated body style (made the lens itself lighter in weight) and the newest one, the VR II version.

Opinion: The 400mm f/2.8 is simply the finest long glass Nikon makes.

Example:

Nikon D100 : @550mm : 1/1000th : f8 : 100 ISO : Matrix metering
