Thanks It was nicely overcast for that image which I think really lent to the overall quality. Only post processing is a slight level adjustment in Aperture and then conversion to jpg for the web.

It is a beautiful lens for the money. I will put up more examples some point soon.

Superb photos, I have mine, and love it. I am really looking forward to it on the D700, since for me, its almost a bit too long on the D2X. I think its better in some ways than the f/1.4 version. Its certainly lighter.

Thanks Murph, but I'm curious what you think (besides weight) makes it better in some ways than the 1.4?

I tried a 1.4 and it seemed to have more CA than the 1.8, plus look at the photozone.de review of the lens. Also nice and light, as well as very sharp. Plus the bokeh is really sweet.

This is a great lightweight lens that works well for portraits, landscape and low light situations. Here's an example @ F2.8 ISO 100 on a D80 that I shot about a year ago.

Would this lens be good to shoot weddings?

What lenses do you have for wedding right now?
Do you have a 50 f/1.4?
