Sweet lens, mine lives on my D80. The only DX lens that is sharper and better is the 16-85mm. One heck of a good lens.

The 18-70 is in my opinion one of the most underrated Nikkor lenses ever made. There is a reason it was the kit lens included with the D70 and also the D200. It is a very good lens for the price and I used it exclusively as my studio lens of choice until I purchased the Nikkor 24-120 which I also consider to be underrated.

The zoom ring is nonlinear and squeezes together the wide angles. This means that you have to be careful moving the zoom ring at the wide end since small changes in rotation result in larger changes in focal length. At the tele end you can make very precise adjustments. | | | |

For that matter most fixed focal length lens are not the actual focal length as marked.

It is a nice flexible lens that when I sold my D70s with it, I bought an used one for my D90 as a spare non prime lens.
