This lens is a story of love and hate for me. I bought it right away when I got my first DSLR. I was very disappointed with the results so I shelved it. As I learned more and more about the technique, I realized that it was my own fault for poor results. I revisited the lens again after it sat on the shelf for some time and I really like it now.

Here's a couple from my archives with this lens.

Here is another example. I shot this while it was fairly early with some overcast skies while the sun light is off and on. It is cropped pretty heavy.

I think this is the reason many lenses and bodies get a bad rap on forums. I'm glad your experience with the lens changed for the better.

I have a full review of this lens: Nikon 70-300mm VR

It is a decent lens for the price. I've got some good shots of eagles with it, etc.

Some great shots I would like to know what some of the setting folks are using. I am new to shooting and am trying to soakup all I can.
