Nice shots; I guess the question most people have regarding this lens is "is it worth it?" compared to the 70-200mm f/2.8.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes. Quite simply it is the fastest, sharpest, most beautiful lens ever made by Nikon. It blows the 70-200mm out of the water (and I love my 70-200mm).

I will put this lens up against any Nikon mount out there... and beat it.

I would never order one, but if a used one was sitting at HCE i would have a seriously hard time not busting out the plastic.

Some of the best shot's i have ever seen and in fact my favorite shot ever that someone else took was with this lens

Also It does really well as a 400 f/4 with a 2x tc

got few month old used copy for WAAAAY good price. I would NOT use 2x TC with this lens (it does suffer) but 1.7 and 1.4 are wonderful!

What an expensive piece of equipment! It's very nice, but $3,000+ for less than 1 f-stop? Gotta have plenty of cash to spare to spend this kind of money on a single lens!

Girls, dogs and cats can be replaced, but good glass is forever..
