I haven't really noticed any looseness. Some people have said similar things about the 70-200VR, although that lens is fine on my camera too. This lens is sweet wide open. Reminds me of the 85mm F1.4D in terms of bokeh. :)

For what you pay. there is no better Nikon glass available. This one will never let you down.

I'm finally getting it!!!! This morning I looked on B H and there it was in stock. Don't know if I got the only one too late now It's mine! Brown Santa will be here tomorrow morning!

More than I wanted to spend but I'd rather have a new one. I've been waiting around to see if I can find a good used one here in Houston. I couldn't resist when B H had one in stock so I went along and got it.

I use it with a Giottos monopod and mini ball set-up with and with out the 1.4x.
