A drive south to the Bluegrass State through horse farm country is nice.

I saw your photos of the Carswell Air Show on your Flickr page. If you're interested in military aviation, the National Museum of the USAF is up at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, about an hour and a half up I-75 from Cincinnati. I've not been there, but my daughter did it a few years ago and said it is pretty impressive.

Are you driving up there from Texas? If so, and if you are into baseball, the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory is on the way. There is a tour of the factory where you can see how they make the bats from start to finish. If you have any kids or grandkids who play, you can buy a personalized bat for them, which is kinda a unique gift.

Churchill Downs is also in Louisville, of course. There is no racing in September, but you can tour the track, if that's something that would interest you. It's kinda like going to Wrigley Field or Fenway Park, I guess.

Leo Thank you so much. We are actually flying in. We are going to rent a car and probably spend a day exploring. However that is about all the time we have, then the work begins. The louisville slugger museum & factory was on my radar if we do go south.

Luxury Louisville Kentucky Hotel :: 21c Museum Hotel - A short walk from the H&B Factory. Worth a stroll through.
Skyline Chili - Our Famous Ways & Coneys - A must when in Cinci. Or anything made from pig.
Kentucky Horse Park - The Epicenter of Equestrian Life, Sports and Business - photo ops.

FYI, I'm originally from Loo-a-vul.

Driving up there is not so bad and there are some great scenic places along the way although with gas prices being what they are flying is probably cheaper :).

Driving does let you bring a LOT of gear!
