NILMDTS Get together: Social

I'm the Area Coordinator for the Texas Medical Center for NILMDTS. We are going to have a get together on June 16th at 7pm in the galleria area. It's purely social - we'll have something to eat, something to drink, and enjoy a gorgeous studio location.

If you are interested in volunteering for NILMDTS... if you have questions... if you just want to come see what kind of weirdo's would volunteer for that type of thing...send me a PM and I'll provide you with the location information.

We need additional volunteers to help cover the Texas Medical Center. We utilize a call calendar, so you only get calls on the day (or days) that you sign up for. It lets us all volunteer to a worthy cause, without causing major upheaval in our lives.

If you've got questions, and don't want to wait, please feel free to ask them here. If your not comfortable asking in the open forum, pm me, and I'll answer as best as I can. I encourage you to ask here though, as there may be some other individual who has the same question, but not the courage to ask.

I need more warm bodies. I hate - HATE - HATE it when TMC hospitals call me directly (cause I'm listed in red), and I have to tell them: I'm sorry, we don't have a photographer on call today.

My goal is to get enough photographers so that everyone takes ONE day a month... and that's it, with one 'backup' day. I know Joanne had TWO calls on Friday. She was at the hospital, and got a 2nd call before she even got out. I think two back to back are too many. If we have one 'on call' and one 'backup'... it reduces the stress/emotional aspect of the event. It's never 'unemotional'... but, lol... I think spreading it out, doesn't hurt!

So I'm begging, borrowing, and SPAMMING until I get enough darn it. It's for a good cause.... ;-)

Hey Donna, Put me on the list to be on call..apparently no hospitals in the northeast have an on call list, so I can help volunteer for you guys downtown.

I actually had a few people inquire on the training - and if I can get enough people interested locally, we'll set up a training for photographers to attend.

We are going to be meeting at True Color Studios at 6:30pm, the gorgeous studio of Andrew & Tammy Adams. It is located at 5709 Val Verde Street, Houston, TX 77057. They have a gorgeous 2nd story patio, the dress is super casual and the atmosphere is relaxed.

If anyone wants to attend - please let me know. We are a friendly group - and can always use more volunteers.

I would not mind volunteering, however I am 3 hours from Houston! Sorry!
