Kitchen countertop installation [NW Houston] - 05-26-2009, 09:34 AM

Hello peeps!
Anyone have any NW Houston recommendations regarding professional installers of kitchen counter tops? Wife and I are looking to replace our current one with stone (marble, maybe?)

Hey,

Well after gutting our entire house I have a bit of insight. Don't put marble in the kitchen. Too too soft and can stain. Stick with hard stone, granite or other hard stone. We have peidra del cordoza (looks kinda like concrete), basaltina is nice too. No limestone either. I'm in Dallas so I don't have a direct referal. The best way to find a good installer is through the people you buy the stone from. The same guys come in over and over and they get to know from the customers who did a good job and who sucks and is overpriced. The installer will give you the price, not the stone guys (usually). I love design and remodeling stuff, but my hubby has ban me from construction projects for a bit. (plus at this point nothing left to tear up..darn) I guess other people don't share my love of destruction and rebuilding. Oh well, I'll just live vicariously thru others. Hope this helps!
