I would ask if TPF members could donate some photographs to your local Children's Advocacy Center. I spend far too much time there, and let me tell you they are wonderful places where sexually abused children can come, be interviewed about the abuse in a non traumatic, non threatening environment, get counselling and most places hang on by their teeth since funding is short. Most live by fundraising, and the United Way. Any donations are tax deductible.

I spend my days investigating sex crimes against children, and two years ago I decided to give back some. So I donated about 100 photographs to the Center for an auction. The first year we made $4000, the next year $6000, and this year I hope to make $10,000 for them. The alternative to a CAC is to interview the child in my office, which, let me tell you, is extremely traumatic for an abused child. I can't say enough about them, just Google your hometown, and make contact with the directors.

Last week I was there every single day, it was a very long, hard, tough week, and made me go home and just hug my kids. Thanks for the listen.

For those in Dallas here is the link. http://www.dcac.org/pages/artadvocacy.aspx

I checked and they do not have the date set for the 3rd annual 2009 Art Auction, they are working on final arrangements for the location.
