That is quite the blown up picture. I wonder how big the original was for them to blow it up to window size? It looks like pretty good quality in the window.

I'm figuring whatever ad agency put together that grocery store's promotional material was betting that it wouldn't be seen, and even if it was, dealing with another countries laws would be too intimidating for most folks to deal with.

makes me wonder what the terms of the shoot were. there may have been some fine print giving the studio full rights to distribute/promote/advertise with etc...

eg: kind of like discovering some of your family photos you have on Facebook plastered all over a billboard in a Facebook advertisement.

It is amazing to find out what you agree to in TOS if one takes the time to read them.

And a couple of weeks after I first saw the blog post above... yahoo news picks up the story.

Good to hear the store owner is taking it down.

PPA just had an article in their magazine about just this subject. The PPA got Face Book to give up rights to images after the client took them off the site. Up until then if you put up an image on Face Book they could sell the rights to the image even after you removed it from their site. As it stands Face Book, and many other sites that allow you to put images up have the rights to your images and can sell your images. This subject came up on TPF not long ago and let us know that Sutterfly and other sites were selling images as the people uploading the images never noticed that when they clicked the agree box they were giving image rights to the online service. It is scary and we should all read the small print or we should not worry about our images. If you remember a young girl from Houston had an image sold by an online provider to Virgin Cell Phone in Australia and they used it on a billboard just last year..
