Well Then... Look what I found outside my work... - 05-28-2009, 02:20 PM

I think it wanted to follow me home!...

Seriously though... For those that don't know, this is the Ariel Atom. I know all about these, and LOVE them, but never thought I would actually see one in person. The thing is beautiful! I saw the guy when he left, helmet and all, and the thing is quick! I would just about kill to take that thing around a track a few times (or maybe just down 2222 for you austin guys)! 300hp, 1000lbs'ish, Power-to-weight > and Enzo!, 2.7 seconds to 60mph, 0-100-0mph in 10.88 seconds, and it will rip your face off above 100mph... Wow!

On to the pic... (taken w/ my phone - G1)
(and yes, I know I am too excited, and you guys probably see these all the time, but I don't, and cars are my passion, so this is awesome for me! lol)

Is that legal to drive down FM2222? I mean, those things may be headlights kinda, but did it have plates and stickers and all?

so it only takes 2.7 seconds to reach 60mph but it takes an add'l 8 seconds to reach 100mph? that doesn't sound right.

Amazing.

It may be classified as a bike, and as far as 5MPH bumpers go, check out the Lotus Elise. They just have a disclaimer.

No doubt. I'd still be scared to be in one in traffic. At least with a bike you sit up higher.

what's the price tag on one of those? That would be fun, but with that kind of speed/power, I'm sure the judge would eventually take it away from me.

Base price? $65k. Each of them are custom-made, though, so you can spend as much as you want.
