Medical science, like all of biological science, is crude, in that it barely addresses symptoms. They lack a mathematical framework that coordinates the entire field, as physics and chemistry have. For the most part, doctors treat self-reported symptoms, with a few measured variables (blood pressure, weight and heart rate) thrown in. This covers most medical practice. So, something that cannot be seen by the naked eye or felt by a third party is difficult for medical science to address. The very term, "schizophrenia" is obsolete, and its definition has changed drastically over the last 50 years. I suffer from dizzy spells, bouts of confusion and have difficulty with my short-term memory and concentrating. Do you think that my doctors have a clue or motivation of where to start with that? Well, they have done a few MRIs, but those all came back normal. |
