So, the field I'm in (Combat Camera), offers a university level training at syracuse, ny. this is the best training that is offered to us and it may be the last class being the contract is up for review.

I found out today that i have been accepted. i will be a college student for 1 year, then its back out to the fleet for me.

Just thought id share with every one

I attended Syracuse University. I assume that's where the course is ?
The Journalism school there is one of the best in the world.

JULY 6th and im omw to syracuse university for a year. and i am excited, got my orders today and i just might fram them, lol

It's nice when the military does something nice for you isn't it? ;-) I can remember when we got our orders to Guam... all we wanted was to stay inside the CONUS.... just don't send us to a podunk island in the middle of nowhere..... so where do they send us? A podunk island in the middle of nowhere.... the absolute best place we could have been stationed. LOVED it! Hated to leave!

Donna - Somtimes they just like to do as they please and call it "the needs of the Marine Corps" somtimes it works out, others, not so much, lol.

Pete - Don't worry, i will let you know, prob even pass through there. we can go on a photo shoot one weekend at least. and i def plan on making a road trip out that way, and to buffalo to visit one of my buddies i deployed with, and my uncle that lives in about the same area as you do.

Congrats. It's a great opportunity. One of my video troops went through Syracuse a few years ago. He thought the training was terrific.
