Toyota Center graduation advice??? - 06-04-2009, 09:01 PM

My Brother is graduating tomorrow at the Toyota Center in Houston and I was curious if any of you have ever taken photos of a graduation at the Toyota Center. If so what was the lighting like and how close could you get? I don't know if I should take my 300mm f2.8 or 500 f4 with my FF. I am guessing since it is a graduation that it would be well lit so I am leaning towards the 500 f4 but I am also wondering if they might have a hissy fit if I show up with it. The info my brother read me states that anyone using a tripod will have to go to the designated area. Thanks for any advice.

I would stick to the 300 w/o a hood. A 500 would just to too long if you are sitting with other people/lugging it around.
