The WoW Thread - Aperture Guild - 06-08-2009, 09:42 AM

Ok I finally started a separate thread for our little group since several people complained about the WoW junk taking over the gaming thread.

I actually wanted to pose a question to you Aperture guildies. My boyfriend (Fea) works at Id Software (Doom, Quake, etc) and the people from his work have been talking about rolling a set of Horde chars on a server for a while but have yet to follow through. I thought it might not be a bad idea to have his work group merge with our little photo group... for a couple of reasons.

1.) It's certainly easier for Jah and I to play one alt as opposed to two. We both have main WoW chars in a raiding guild and ideally we'd like to stick to playing Otoah and Fea rather than rolling new chars on another server.

2.) It never hurts to expand the ranks! More people makes for a more fun and lively guild.

Of course I understand if you guys would prefer to keep this a "private party" of sorts, but I think merging our two small groups of people into one guild might be cool. I want to get everyone's opinion before Fea mentions the idea to the Id guys though.

Lemme know!

I'm okay with a bigger guild, however, I like the family nature of what we have. Bigger gives us more opportunity, but I don't want to be part of an elitest, snobby, die hard, have to play 48.5 hours / week and attend 3 raaids per week type of guild.

If these guys and gals are cool, let them in. (Start them at F/8, and let them earn our trust... )

I'd consider re-installing and starting a new toon if the guild starts, we should get a vent channel as well

Matt - I really don't think that will be the case. The whole point of this guild (for most of us anyway) is to have a place to play an alt. Each of these guys has their main guild, just like we do... and they're all working professionals in a busy industry as well. A lot of these guys would barely have time for ONE raiding guild, let alone two. :)

Positive responses so far! I'd like to see what Whumbahcumba and BEphoto have to say before Fea sends out an email to the Id guys though.

Nick - Do it! Join uuusssss!

I'm quite alright with this, and being that they are people from id software makes it even cooler. I understand the concern about numerous alts, which is one reason why I moved my main over to our server (wasn't involved in a guild or raids on previous server anyways).

Matt, as for your concern about required time and raids a week, I'm going to strive to not have that happen to our guild. It shouldn't be a problem, especially since we are a fairly small guild.

Nick, download and join us. We've already started and are well underway. We have toons ranging all across the board on levels. Beth is flying ahead with her druid though, nearly level 50.

I'll wait until Brad has his say. I'm sure he'll be okay with it, but I want to make sure. After all, this is -our- guild, not mine. Everybody has just as much say as anybody else, until we get really big and then the TPF members can act like elitist snobs. :D

Yes and we have enough linen cloth for 20 newbies to level bandaging or tailoring into the wool area.

I may be enticed to re-install and join as well. I'm definitely not looking to get back into serious raiding though. I do have a toon sitting at 70 and a DK on the way.

If I started I'd either roll a healer or dps. I've had my share of tanking!
