Were you photographing them? Or photographing an event where they were at? Disrespectful can mean alot of different things to alot of different people.

I do their shows and band pictures.

They've been doing weird things over the weeks.
They took my name off the site as photographer
which I was like...fine okay because they had
a pretty okay explanation but then I realized they don't
credit me for the pics I've taken anywhere :[

Then there are a few things that are said that rub me in the wrong
way every now and then.

Maybe I should start putting my name at the bottom of every pic :P

Maybe you should consider getting a different client? They might be giving you a hint.

Sounds good to me.

Also sounds like you might want to look for a new band.

Do you get paid for this service or are you just doing it for fun? Couldn't hurt to ask them about it though vs. just guessing what's up.

Might just want to move on and let them find another source for pics.

If you had a credit up there with the photos, and they took the credit down but not the photos, it sounds like they have some specific issue with your ID on them, that they haven't told you about. But you could always send them a cease and desist letter to remove the photos too, if you can't seem to come to a conclusion about your credits.

sounds like your ID taken off of the site really bug you, and among other things. If they have the right to identify you or not on that site, that's their rights. What is really going on though?

+1. I had to do this with a band once. Send them a cease and desist, in which refusal will end in legal action.

I've shot disrespectful bands before. It has really bugged me. Just with real life, you will meet some great people and some not-so-great people... My current band (well, solo artist Rhett Miller - not really a whole band) was really nice. His album dropped today and he was doing an interview on The Ticket (dallas radio show). He was nice enough to mention me on air about the photos. That's the kind of artists you want to work with.

I have been working with unsigned bands for some time now. I have found they are a difficult bunch to work with. Some of them will show you nothing but love and promote you every chance they get, there are others that WILL take advantage of your kindness. I started taking pics of an unsigned very tallented band here in the DFW area just to learn and get some photos in my portfolio. they didnt know i was taking photos of them or they didnt know who I was. After going to several of their shows they started talking to me and found out I was a photographer. Anyway long story short i developed a good working relationship with them and they asked me to shoot some promo photos for them in waxahatchie. I live in arlington so that is a good distance away. I asked them for 100 an hour for all their photos on DVD. they agreed. MY BAD.....I did NOT have them sign a contract or prepay. I trusted them. I gave them the photos and they kept going round and round with me that they would pay me, their manager would pay me, the drummer would pay me, ect. everyone was pointing the finger. They posted their photos on their website and their myspace page, no credit, no nothing. basically i walked away from them and just let them keep the photos. however i will NOT work with them again without a contract or without money up front before delivery of the photos. And next time I will put my name on their photos. Hope that helps.

Wow... sounds like this could easily happen to me. The band I do is starting to get really popular in the area, and when they started getting pretty popular that's when they stopped crediting me. In the beginning, they were really nice. They told everyone they could about me and thanked me for everything all the time which I thought was overly nice :). Now that I think about it, problems got worst when they got a new vocalist in the band not too long ago. I don't know. Carl is right, I am too nice which is probably alot of the problem too. . You're right, alot of people will take advantage of your kindness. I am doing pictures of unsigned artists myself to get pictures for my portfolio.

I am about to start doing pictures for my close friend La who does nudes for Godsgirls.com. That'll be a new experience.

Major bands like Nickelback, Manson, NIN, Puddle o' Mudd, Slipknot, Carrie Underwood, etc...they're all awesome to work with....(if anything their management might be quirky, but usually polite enough)...

HOWEVER a lot up-and-coming bands that start to see a bit of following?....not so much. Hell some of them I've seen some treat photographers like it's their glorious honor to let them shoot.

Met some cool band people and some real jerks, it comes with the territory but as to them pulling credit but still using the photos ssend them a cease and desist and give them a speciific time limit. (also note that it isn't to give you credit but for them to pull all of your work- you don't want to deal with them again!)
