Oh, it ain't just LA. Happens all over the world, and often centered around sports teams. I was in Dublin, Ireland in the 90's when they got into the quarter finals of World Cup soccer. Turned over and burned police cars, rioted on O'Connell St. It all looked very similar to these photos. And that was just the quarter finals, they then lost to Italy next game. I don't know what would have happened if they won the cup.

Um...so your team wins and you decide to reward the city by smashing cars and looting stores? Makes alot of sense.

two things i have to say here.
1. Glad is a wierd choice to use here, but i'm glad that the PJ captured more than one ethnicity in action here. Because it takes all kinds... and this should remind people of that. It's not just one certain demo that goes crazy like this.
2. Had I been a store owner a block away from the staples center, I would have hired extra security for that night ... unfortunately LA has that bad rap. But so does Boston. So again, it's everywhere.

I wonder what the editors didn't post. Looking through the 20 photos on the site show some people just having fun but then others being destructive makes you think how hard the cops had to restrain themselves when seeing this going on.
There is actually some good PJ work in these shots, some look like the photographer was being pushed/hit while shooting (may just be a trick to add that action).

I don't recall Dallas fans doing this after the 90s Super Bowls.

Hate to sound mean but... why can't these guys who are setting things on fire accidentally get caught up in it? Flipping a car... oops it lands on top of them. Breaking into a store, oops the shards of glass fell into them. Trashing a police car, the police stand by watching as you get your butt kicked by someone...
This crap makes me sick. Your team won, stand up and celebrate! Parade in the streets! Yell and scream! DON'T trash businesses that are providing services to YOU and your community. DON'T trash cars that people depend on to get to work. DON'T trash police cars that are there to protect your community!
I bet that if a police officer had to use force on someone and they got seriously injured we would have ANOTHER riot going on in LA because the cops didn't let them do whatever they wanted.

I'm not the least bit surprised. Wonderful cities like Detroit who burn down their city on Devil's Night every year are a show of true class. In New Orleans, Katrina "victims" shot at rescue helicopters and even cops got in on the looting action.
I'm sad to say that in Houston, I would expect some of the same behavior since 150,000 of New Orleans finest have chosen to stay here long after Katrina. I'm honestly not sure if the rioting and violence wouldn't be worse in Houston than New Orleans if the Saints won the Superbowl.
