I'm renting a Garmin eTrex Legend Cx for my trip through New Mexico next week. I've never used a hiking GPS, before. It's more complicated than an automotive GPS. I have the quick start guide and the owner's manual, but I'm wondering if there are any tips anyone could offer me for basic use?
I'm renting this device because I plan to visit ghost towns and hot springs that are out in the wilderness. I just need something that can tell me where a spot is relative to me. I want it to ID my current location. It would be nice if it could keep track of my route, too. |
