So I saw this today . . .

The first-ever IS convertible from Lexus is here. Put the top down and let the world in. Live a little, a lot.

And thought, how do they Image Stabilize a car?!?

My husband just laughed at me

Is this the one? Caught it at the 2009 Dallas Auto Show (DAS).

That car has something ridiculous like 47 motors to work that top which they say is the fastest closing/opening top in the industry. But it won't work if the car is moving! So if you start the top going up and down at a light and the light turns green, you either wait for it to finish or drive off with it half way up or down. LOL!

The Infinite M30 actually was an IS car. Sonar scanning the road and adjusting the suspension.

My buddy's ragtop is pretty quick. I think it goes down at 9.8m/s/s.

My mother-in-law has an older (2001) Mercedes SLK230 with the automatic hardtop. They've come a long way since then, but it's still a lot of fun to watch go up and down.

I'm surprised more Canon shooters haven't bought a Volkswagen EOS convertible. I'm sure we could all use a little more (Ford) Focus, too.
