Jay hope you can see it. Dh says it is best viewed from the water.

As for the no snow capped Mtn. I thought dh was crazy when he asked me to send his thermals, thermal socks and gloves but he sure used them. He said you would be surprised how cold it gets there. I thought he had lost his mind. But I did see a few pics with him and other guys all bundled up lol.

And he may be thinking Jebali or Dubai or something. Obviously I have never been to any of those and he isn't the photographer lol so he doesn't look for things like we would.

I will agree with the sunrise and suset shots though.
These are a couple dh took while in Iraq, so not Kuwait but close enough lol. I don't even think he took photos in Kuwait at all.
These were shot from the oil platts to be more precise. And he said they have beautiful ones.

This was dh in the morning light. Gotta love those self timers lol

John,

I was thinking of the panhandle/high planes area (Midland, Lubbock, Amarillo). You are right. I totatly forgot the Big Bend, El Passo area. I have even climed Guadalupe Peak. (8,749 ft). Texas is a big place. I should have been more specific.

Breezy,

Thanks for the encouragement. I haven't seen a sunset yet. The dust is so bad, you can look straight at the sun all day with no problem. It just kind of disapeers in the dust at night.

I've spent the "winter" in a tent near here. It gets very cold (35-40F) at night. There is no humidity, so everything just radiates off. No problem now. It was still 102F last night at 10pm.

Regards,

Jay

Breezy,

I tried to PM you but your box was full.

I have your glass from the Kuwait Hard Rock Cafe. Send me your address and I will get the glass to you.

Sorry it took so long. I went on vacation as soon as I got back.

Regards,

Jay Parsley

I was there 6 or 7 years ago while in the military... I don't remember there being restrictions on photography? I took plenty with a disposable, don't remember where I put them though....

There's a mall right on the Persian Gulf, with a little cafe on the first floor. You can sit, have tea and a hookah, and watch the sunset over the Gulf. Probably the most gorgeous sunset I've ever seen.
