Now 4x5 seem to be the natural format for Kodachrome. Some outstanding images here.

Shorpy Photo also has many other beautiful old photos.

Back in the early '80's I worked for a couple of labs and a photographer...
...So one day this person walks in with a roll of Kodachrome they had found in a camera in their dad's closet (he had either died or had to got to long term care) and wanted it developed. No one really knew what was on it....
...We sent it off to the alchemists who processed Kodachrome at the time (likely Kodak) and when it came back there were photos from the early 1940's (WWII) era with folks in uniform etc. that looked like they had been shot last week.

I was a Kodachrome fan from then on.

Thanks for linking to the site. It is going to keep me entertained for a LONG TIME to come....

Being a history buff I love to see history as it really looked (ex. I TIVO'd the series "Color of War" for the color footage)
