He's been out of it for what 3 years now? Plus he got injured in a race earlier this season that was supposed to be his tune up.

Yeah, not shocking that he's not favored to win. What does his team even look like now?

He had to leave his drugs in Texas.

There are younger competitors with less mileage on them; less experience, but less wear and tear, too. I would love Armstrong to win another one, but the simple fact he has decided to return to pro cycling is a victory in itself.

remember that he is a bit more streamlined when out of the saddle- ha ha ha

I would not be surpised to see him wearing the yellow a few times but not sure if it will be at the end of the race, yeah that may be blasphemy but he is going against some guys who are 10+ years younger than him and it isn't all skill and strength since spills have taken out the best of them in this race- remember when he had to jump off of his bike and carry it cross country for a hundred yards or so?

Good luck Lance!!

Anybody remember that other American who racked up a few TDF's under his belt?

But DUDE!!!

The cyclist favored , Alberto Contador, is ON Lance's team!!!! Team Astana is coached by Johan Bruyneel - Lance's main main through the years! How can they possible expect Lance to be a lowly Domestique?!?!?! This is madness, this is insanity, this is SPARTA!!!!.... oh wait.. wrong thread..

Nevertheless, how could we possibly watch Lance drop back and fetch water bottles for another rider? Lance can't be a domestique!!!! He is the PATRON!!!!

Also, the team is scary strong this year. Possibly the most dominant cycling team ever assembled with Levi Leipheimer, Andreas Klöden, Yaroslav Popovych, Benjamín Noval....

It will be an interesting team to watch. I just got my autographed team flag from Lance's 4th win framed and will hang it in my TV room in time for TDF.

I'm still rooting for Lance. LiveStrong and all that.

the difference is that most people love Lance, while it seems LeMond is actually disliked by most

LeMond is an angry, jealous, bitter man.

I've heard a lot of people say this about Lance too. They say his anger is what motivates him. I guess you just have to channel your emotions in the right direction.

I have heard that there is a huge difference in Lance's team than in previous years. It used to be that everyone rode to help Lance out but this year it is basically every man for himself. He does have one of his old riders back on his team from when he was sponsored by the Post Office.
