My company mandated all company employees take 40 hours of vacation between May and June, so I took a few trips out to West Texas and New Mexico.
I got back last night, having driven through Abilene, Odessa, Monahans Sandhills State Park (where I camped), Balmorhea State Park, Blue Origin space port, El Paso, Deming (Mom), Coronado National Monument (camped), Gilman Tunnels, Soda Dam, Sulphur Springs, Jemez Falls, Spaceport America, Albuquerque, Santa Rosa's Blue Hole, Amarillo and back home. The last two days, I spent 21 hours driving and 5 hours sleeping. Over 6 days, I drove 2605 miles, an average of 434 miles per day (I spent the last third of Day 6 at work). This wasn't a perfectly efficient trip, but I did OK on it. I shot about 20 or 30 GB of photos and video.
Photos and video clips to follow.
