Cool We made the front page! - 06-28-2009, 09:03 PM

My husband's national guard unit is deploying... and the Houston Chronicle is going to be following them throughout the deployment. It was kind of neat to read about them... and that this is the LARGEST deployment of NG soldiers from Texas since WWII.

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...n/6501078.html

The REALLY funny thing... is that as the wife of a soldier... I am CONSTANTLY told... not to talk about stuff... and then they put this kind of stuff on the front page of the Houston Chronicle....

On a rather positive note - we spent the weekend downtown at the Crown Plaza, on the military's dime, for a marriage retreat/seminar where they went over things like deployment related 'relationship' issues.

They covered really good information that I think makes a huge difference for the families of deploying soldiers... and the soldiers themselves.

Anyway... and I would HIGHLY suggest if you are married or thinking about getting married..... heck... maybe if you just like the opposite sex.... go buy this guys DVD's.... they showed multiple clips from his shows... and we laughed so hard... here's one of them from YouTube. This one is on Man's Brain/Woman's Brain... and is hilarious!

I was skimming down the list of new topics and thought this said "We made fun of Angel" and had to stop and think to myself "We've been doing that forever!!!"

I'd say "Fair winds and following seas" but that's just Navy talk coming out ;)

Thanks. Although if I told him that, lol, he'd probably make some crack about Navy guys... so I'll refrain.
