At 1730 today, the local bank thermometer read 108F!!!! No appreciable rain for 18 months, and what? 30 straight days of 100+ temps?! Come on! This sucks.

I feel for you guys. Stay hydrated if you have to be out in it. As a young adult, I moved from Houston to Bakersfield, CA and lived there for 10 years. Every summer there was like what y'all are experiencing. I got used to it after a while, what else ya gonna do?

Today, down here in Houston, it got up to the mid-90s and was slowly cooling off this evening - very slowly. Then about an hour ago some weather blew through. High wind, thunder and lightning, and suddenly the wind got cold. The temp dropped down into the low 70s. And then it started raining. Hard. Didn't last more than about ten or fifteen minutes though. And then the temp started climbing back up again. It's back up to the mid-80s already. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

During the summer especially, we have to come up with reasons why we live here.

when you go out to get in the car at 6am, and it's already 90 degrees you know you're in trouble.

Family. That's the only reason for me.

We made the choice to live here. I don't care if it is hot. That is why brilliant people invented A/C! I can't believe you are complaining. I mean, we in dallas are in a heat warning (what ever that means) with a project high of 102 and it is raining. Can you say sauna! I always wanted a sauna.

Today is even worse! My car said 110 as I was driving home and when I got here I felt bad for my horses so I put on a swim suit and gave them some cool baths. I think they were appreciative! :)

Get rid of that thermometer!! It only makes it worse when you know how hot it is.

I know!...But my husband calls me a weather nut because I'm constantly checking the weather (temperature, rain, etc.)...I try not to look but I can't help it! :)

Y'all just have the wrong car. I've had mine for about 4 years and just figured out recently I only have 2 digits in the digital thermometer. Never gets higher than 99 in my car!!
