Seriously? 12 minutes?
I just resized about 30 pictures that I took at the July 4th party at the pool of a friend of ours. Well he copied it from my facebook album, and then made it his profile pic. Within 12 minutes he already had 5 comments on the pic, and most of them swiped the flippin picture and copied it to THEIR albums. I resized them to 640x480 or whatever the size was, so I guess they can't get any good prints of them.... not that it would matter if they did. I did put my little "LOGO" stamp on them though.
I'm just kinda flaberghasted a little. Dont know whether I should be pissed or flattered.

Let me get this right. You put the photos on an unsecure public site, it gets copied repeatedly to 6 other sites within 12 minutes and each of those Facebook people have how many friends? And you are upset?? Consider it good advertising that cost you nothing and be greatful you put your logo ... that all those friends on Facebook are gonna see ... on it. Sounds like viral marketing to me.

Once there on Facebooks, its free game for anyone to use!
That's what they claim to say, when you are posting pictures up on there site!
Why get mad, just don't post any pictures! Then you won't have that problem! #2 Sharing Your Content and Information
#1 For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos ("IP content"), you specifically give us the following permission, subject to your privacy and application settings: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with Facebook ("IP License"). This IP License ends when you delete your IP content or your account (except to the extent your content has been shared with others, and they have not deleted it).
JUST FYI.....

I'm not angry or anything, I guess it just felt weird because it was the first time I've seen a picture of MINE get spread around that fast, and actually KNOW about it.
Just a weird feeling is all. And when you put it like you did, I guess free advertising is better than no advertising at all huh? ChristopherCoy added 1 Minutes and 2 Seconds later...Double Post Merged Below Quote:

When people do that to my photos on Facebook, I post a comment. I simply state..."Great photo!!! Who shot that? " That opens the door for more shameless self-promotion. It's always friends that do it so it's become a bit of a running joke. With Facebook...it's open season for anything you post. Just choose what you post wisely.

And, for that matter, could they argue that, while the above might not be sufficient to constitute due diligence (on facebook's part) in the case of the average person uploading their snapshots, a pro should know exactly what they were agreeing to? | | | |
