I just got back from my first trip to California - San Francisco. I've never been to Sandy Eggo but I've heard a lot of good things about it. Good luck and have fun.

Here is a pic of downtown SD that was done for a magazine cover. The moon was enlarged to go with the theme of an accompanying article.

I went there once to see a stepson graduate from MCRD...To me it was the only reason to visit San Diego...The people and the food were really strange...Ben

Ok, I use to live in San Diego, but I will have to admit those people and are a little strange.LOL. There are many things to do there you need to see Balboa Park, up the coast from San Diego is La Jolla Coves a beautiful view of the ocean and the coast. Try to go at sunset and have your camera ready. Take the drive over the bridge to Coronado and see the Coronado Hotel. Point Loma is another place you see the city of San Diego and the skyline and the light-house. All of the places are worth having a camera. There are signs that will direct you to these places. Yes, Serena it is a big city but it has many things to see and do there. Have fun and post some photos. Congratulations on Master Peace Officer License.

Take the trolley tour, you can pick it up at the Marriott next to the convention center, it will give you a good starting point to see the sights then you can go back later if you have a car and spend more time. The Marriott itself is a great photo op, it has a marina in front of it too and sunsets are light up the area with beautiful color.

That magazine shot that was posted can be shot from the area that is across the bay, same side of the bay as the Del Coronado hotel, its a beautiful place too, but the shot was most likely taken from the old ferry boarding area. I had some similar shots from there but they were all done mid-day

Of course the San Diego zoo is a major attraction and Balboa park is next door, there is a photography museum in the balboa park area too

Old Town, is the original San Diego settlement and has some interesting shops that make for wonderful color

The house that was featured in the "Charmed" tv show is located in SD also and the trolley tour goes by it

same side of the bay but south off the bridge and away from the Del Coronado Hotel is Imperial beach, there is a Pier that you can walkout on and eat lunch, its a good place to catch surfers too.

As you can see, there just isn't much to do in SD, my trip there a few yrs ago was only going to be one day, but I stayed for 4
