Sergeant First Class John C. Beale - 07-13-2009, 05:12 PM

I just received an e-mail from a friend that I thought I would share with all of you. It appears that the video was recorded from inside a law enforcement vehicle during the procession to the funeral home. This is to honor a fallen Warrior, Sergeant First Class John C. Beale. I noticed in the film that there is a discrepancy in his rank but it doesn't matter to me. Please, I am not trying to politicize this post. The film is long but please watch it to the end. If this doesn't bring tears or make your eyes water then you are much stronger than I am.
I copied the next section from the e-mail to explain the video.
"Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time."

That was touching. I'm glad so many people wished to honor him. Let me say, though... Please, God, please don't let anyone make a video of my funeral with those songs. There has to be at least a few moving songs to choose from that are actually tolerable.

I was doing okay until I saw the older gentlemen standing in front of their bikes saluting. Just something about that really tugged at me... haven't stopped crying since.

Wow...that was ALOT of people. I have to say it was inspiring to see that many people. We are all so busy these days, we can't even slow down for a fire truck or an ambulance, let alone take time to stand and wait for a funeral procession.

To honor those that gave all for our country should be above the honor we show singers and other entertainers, but no, we have a pop star die and it is all we see on TV for two weeks. How far we as a nation have fallen that we have so many that give of themselves and some give their lives and we won’t give them the time of day, but let an entertainer die and it is all we hear about. We all should say thanks to every person in uniform every time we see one.
