Have I got a money making opportunity for YOU!

Are people really this stupid? Aside from the technological aspect of it, what about the personal safety factor? Such a dumb@$$!

unless there is a 30.06 sign on the door, the personal safety aspect doesn't bother me.
The problem is that I don't have a camera phone.

It looks like somebody from out of town needs some pictures of a house, and doesn't know of any way to get them other than CL. He'll probably get a dozen replies.

He doesn't say anything about paying for this service...

I'm waiting for Apple to add a hotshoe on the iPhone before I get one. Or maybe a built-in ring flash for model shoots.

Chase Jarvis has been doing good work with his iPhone, maybe iPhone art will be showing up soon at a gallery near you!

Some idiot wants pictures taken with a camera phone, and is willing to send an UNKNOWN stranger into some unsuspecting clients house to take "photos." Perhaps this person who responds to an ad and has a camera phone is a rapist/serial murderer/thief or any number of other criminal titles.... and here is this unsuspecting client who thinks their real estate agent is doing a good job.

Do you STILL not see an issue here???

In general I find it distasteful to criticize people, including calling them names --especially when what they say or do is none of my damned business.

About the situation above, I don't see any issues - we live in a free society and people are free to engage in barter and do whatever suits them as long as it's legal and ethical. Sure, one would take reasonable precautions dealing with other human beings that one doesn't know.

I myself find no pleasure in pointing out other people's suspected idiocy - as I am as likely to be wrong as I am to be right.

Then place an ad on craigslist and find a random person to go and shoot your next photo session for you. Perhaps you'll be liable for murder/theft/burglary, perhaps you wont. Good luck!

You lost me there, my friend!

Some people see the world full of evil people, some of us think that fellow human beings tend to be pretty decent in general, with a few rotten ones here and there. My general experience with people is a good one, so I am predisposed to assume good intentions. But whatever works for you!

Odds are much greater that you'll get someone from TPF that saw the CL add then a murderer.
I've thought about booking a $700 wedding on CL and then hiring a $300 photographer on CL to shoot it and then just pocket the rest of the $$$.

Do a lot of people get murder off of CL adds? I've read about some, but they were doing those crazy kinky adds.
I guess I don't really get the paranoia.

Craigslist is just a big, fluffy Internet garage sale (like a localized FleaBay without the auctions). Sure, there are some evil swindlers and no-gooders trying to make a buck or satisfy some sick desire, but I've had good luck with the few people I've interacted with on there. Mainly, if it seems strange or too good to be true, it IS strange or too good to be true. Next!
