One hour... $75... to hit the button on the camera and burn a cd... no guarantee of results... no editing... depending on my financial status... I might take that gig.

Is it where I want to go? Not even close... but those aren't my clients...the folks that would hire that person... but in my time...I've waited tables for $2.13/hour...and sold plasma 3x a week for the $20 it brought....and done quite a few other not so fun & glamorous things in order to have some money come in....so $75 for an hour to press a button... there were times I'd take it all day long, and be happy I had it, no doubt about it.

From a client stand point, that is not the kind of photographer I'm looking for. From a photographer stand point, if I could get the client to sign that agreement, I guess I might do it too.

I've unloaded trucks at Sears, delivered pizza, managed restaurants, and video taped youth sport for commission on sales, to pay for college. I'm not below that. When it comes to portrait work, I'm looking for quality not just a low price.

I'm interested in hearing about these "jobs"

Sorry, I don't know how to respond to that one without sounding flippant. Was your job a victim of the economy?

I dunno if this one was to me or not. My post was intended to get Cajungal to share what she did to earn money! lol All in good humor... hope it was taken that way.

ROFLMAO... you are such a guy... sheesh...

And I always take your responses in the method they are given... some people have no sense of humor... I'm NOT one of them!

If this is to the original poster - he was posting it because he saw it, and thought it was funny... or worth discussing.

If it was to me... ummm... no, my situation was not a victim of the economy... it was a situation of immaturity. ;-)

I find today that if you show people a really good quality photo taken with lights and know-how applied, they are really amazed because the trend has been for so long now to get the most nasty, distasteful shots possible so as to "set yourself apart" that they have forgotten what decent portrait photography looks like.

I experience the above "amazed" response almost daily. I intend to keep grinding out high quality studio/on sight product and ignore the "nastiness."
