Dining in Frisco? - 07-16-2009, 10:54 PM

Coming up to the Dallas area tomorrow to get my daughter from camp. I'm staying in Frisco, close to Stonebriar Center.

Any suggestions for a good place to have dinner?

TIA,
Cindy

That depends on what your idea of a good place to have dinner is. I could suggest anything from Schlotzsky's to Chipotle to Gatti Town to Cheesecake Factory to Down Under Pub (if it's still open) to Mediterranean Grill (I think that's where I bought lamb a few years ago) to a number of other cafes and restaurants. Oh, there is a mom-and-pop Mexican place up on Main Street, I think over by 5th, that had pretty good food, too.

Cotton Patch has good food. Gloria's is highly rated. I liked La Hacienda Ranch. There are, of course, several others, and I don't even remember all their names, right now.

A price range or food type would help us give you a suggestion. That area is 'restaurant central' with the mall and many other options right there.

A very short drive down the North Dallas Toll Road will put you in 'steakhouse row' where there are no less than 8 prime steakhouses. If you like Cajun food, I highly recommend Pappadeaux's. I have been dining there for many years and never had less than an excellent experience. They are located on the NDTR @ Frankford.

Enjoy, you'll be in my 'hood'.

Thanks for the suggestions, and in case you have more, a little more info . . .

I'd rather stay withing a 10-15 minute drive of the Stonebriar center, and I'd rather not do the fast food/chain route (ie, Chipotle, Cheesecake Factory). As for price . . .I'm feeling spendy, this is like a micro-vacation for me . .. lol, not long enough to be a mini-vacation!

All other suggestions are appreciated!

And Janice, I'd love to come to the photowalk, but as soon as I get my daughter, we're headed home.

Bob's is an excellent choice. Also at the Shops at Legacy is Gordon Biersch, a micro brewery with some tasty choices and good beer of course. Next door is the new sushi hot spot called 'Ra'. If you're in the mood for some tex-mex, there's Mi Cocina. Not my favorite style, but good also.

BTW, the places I was talking about on the North Dallas Toll Road are no more than 15 minutes from Stonebriar.

Enjoy. All this talk is making me HUNGRY!

Really? Best carrot? hmmmm . . .I'm generally not a fan of cooked carrots (love them raw!) but if they're that awesome, I may have to try it . . ..

Restaurants all up and down Preston Road. La Hacienda Ranch is kind of pricey; it's Mexican and a steak house.
