Need References for Job Application

One of the problems with not knowing anyone is that it is difficult to get job references. But, I'm applying for a job as an art model to the local colleges. How would I get professional references for that?

Perhaps you can get letters or phone #'s from some of the people who have commented on your posts in THF... Is it that kind of modeling?
What kind of references do they need?

I don't know. It's an online form for Collin College. I have to put the usual info, "Name, Company, Address, Occupation, Phone number, how we know each other." It's the same question regardless of the position for which I am applying, meaning that its applicability for an art model job may not be perfect.
