issue with a neighbor - 07-29-2009, 09:52 PM

ok, so this jerk of a neighbor that I have is pissing me off to the point of putting nails in his driveway and hiring a witch doctor to cast voodoo on his manhood.

He has a mustang with a rather loud, noisy muffler and he likes to drive like a jackarse. He lives in the second house from the corner and has this insane obsession of trying to get to the stop sign in .583 seconds (doesnt stop btw), turning left, going to the dead end of that street, and drag racing the invisible car next to him the almost 2 miles to the other stop sign. Not only that, but he likes to sit in his drive way at midnight and revv his engine during the week. I've gone out and politely asked him not to revv his engine at night and his "lady" (I use that term lightly) friends called me a bitch as I was walking away. I let that one slip, which is NOT normal of me, but I figured there were 3 of them and they were drinking.

He backs into his driveway and takes off out of it like a bat out of hell while kids are riding their bikes or walking down the street with no regard.

Without calling the cops, how else should I handle this guy. Due to my personal opinion of the police out here, I doubt they will do much at all, if they even come out (not saying anything bad about the police in general, just dont have a high opinion of the ones here in this town).

two can play the same game.....
get an air horn or a can from the boat store and one early morning just let it RIP! Make sure you do it close to his window!

Or just let it go, because it won't stop.....
good luck....

I think he's in the Army, so he's up much earlier than me lol. Maybe on a saturday when my son decides to be up at 6am.

I was thinking maybe a flaming brown bag of poo on his doorstep?

There's your answer. You don't need the local police. His superiors would not like his behaviour at all.

I , too, was wondering if you could enlist the help of his commander. I'm sure they would not care for complaints of this type. Maybe enlist other neighbors to complain also.

You probably should call a lawyer for advice, not seek it here. It is likely with your volatility and theirs, cooler heads will not prevail.

"Be water" Water is soft but not even the hardest rock can resist the power of water...

Either that or load up two 15 round mags for your AR15. Tape them together so that the "bullet end" of the mag is on opposite sides. Insert the mag into the weapon, charge the weapon, aim the weapon at the car. Start at the front... pull the trigger 15 times... moving the weapon slowly across the target as you fire... somewhere about mid vehicle the noise will stop and the bolt will lock back... remove the mag... flip it over... insert the other end of the mag into the weapon... release the bolt... aim at where you left off and continue pulling the trigger until no more noise occurs. At some point the gas tank may or may not "go off"... Depends on how well you time the movement... Uh... I'm kidding... but wouldn't that be fun as sh..

Dan has the right answer. Find his superior officer... contact him... he'll fix it.

Or give the cops a chance to do their job...

After reading these responses, I think I will talk to the property management company. I have no way of finding out who his command is, I dont even know his name or if he is the actual renter. There are like three different people that live there. I've lived here almost 3 1/2 years and this is the first issue I've had, other than a break in while I was out of town. I'm not going to lawyer up because he drives like he's on crack, and I seriously doubt the police will be effective.

You need to "have a cup of coffee" with him. (from the movie Erin Brockovich) ?????? WTF!!! What do I mean by this? Find a way to befriend him. (At least make him THINK that.) Instead of confronting, hang out. If he sits in his drive way at midnight and revs his engine come over not to complain, but to say "hey..." ....."Wow man tell me all about that cool car." Yeah he'll take the bait and go on and on about his bad a$$ ride. and himself too. You won't be able to shut him up. Now, he's not looking at you as some confrontational bitch. That's the time to go to work on him. Wait until he's sober ....and alone, that's the time to play the friend card. .... "Dude, you're killin' me here with the midnight entertainment". "You think maybe you can cut me a little slack?" "Sure would appreciate it." "Think you could do that for me????"

Just might be worth a try. Usually pissin' matches keep getting worse and worse. He's an a$$, he'll never give in and will always meet your sh*t with greater sh*t back. You might just have to beat him with smarts. I would think you'd have the advantage there.

Good luck.
